DRAINING YOUR SPA

If you don’t plan to use the spa in freezing conditions, go ahead and drain it completely before the first chance of a hard freeze. This is not a task you want to tackle in frosty conditions, so be sure to get a jump on the harshest weather.
You must be certain ALL of the water is removed – including remnants in the pump lines and jets.

The following steps will ensure safe, effective shutdown of your unit for the winter:
  • Disconnect the spa from the power supply.
  • Remove the screws holding your spa access panel door.
  • Open the valve. The spa will drain by gravity flow.
  • Remove the filter cartridge. Clean it and store in a dry place.
  • Attach a wet/dry shop vacuum (capable of blowing air as well as vacuuming) into the filter housing.
  • Turn the blower on and allow it to propel any remaining water through the plumbing lines. This should take about five minutes.
  • Reinstall the filter housing.
  • Use the shop vacuum to remove the water inside the spa that was pushed through the jets.
  • Towel dry any remaining water from the spa, until it is completely dry.
  • Leave the drain open.
  • Close the spa cover and fasten with tie down safety locks.
